Choose the Right Beginner Golf Equipment with these Tips

by Andre Riggs

Various beginner golf equipment pieces and sets get advertised on golf channels and on the internet. The problem with these packages is they tend to include equipment that beginning golfers aren't ready to use and that they won't really benefit from. If you're truly interested in finding beginner golf equipment to help you improve your game, it is a good idea to start with a few basics and then add pieces to your inventory as you become better at the game and more certain that you're going to stick with it.

You should invest in a good pair of golf shoes as your first piece of equipment. Be sure your shoes fit well and are comfortable to wear because during a game of golf, you spend a lot of time on your feet. Your first few games may be uncomfortable as you break in your shoes but you can minimize this by wearing them off the course or to the driving range first. Your spikes will need to be appropriate for the courses that you'll play most often. As an example, most courses in the U.S. require soft spike shoes.

You should also invest in a golf ball finder. With special eyeglasses, your ball will show up brighter because the grass is eliminated from your field of vision. A golf ball finder is helpful for beginners for two main reasons. First, it will save you a lot of money in lost golf balls as you're learning the game. You will be better able to see where your ball goes after you hit it, as well. You can also use it to help identify any problems with your golf swing if you have troubles with your ball veering to the left or right of where you aimed it.

Golf club head covers are also important to buy. You're investing time and money into assembling a good set of golf clubs. You can easily spend a few hundred dollars on even a beginners set of clubs. Protecting this investment from banging together in your car or in your closet by investing in quality golf head covers will lengthen the life of your clubs.

Beginner golf equipment doesn't have to cost a fortune but buying the right equipment can add years of enjoyment to your game. With all the new, fancy equipment, it can be easy to get distracted whether you're new or returning to the game. Sticking with the beginner golf equipment discussed above will leave you in great shape.
